HB Falalala Larry Christmas Stout. My buddy Larry Stout passed and I make a beer every year in his name. His daughters really enjoy it. This years version a Caramel Pecan RIS. Damn tasty!
Decemberfest Day 3 brings hither Kurpfalz Bräu, a terrific tasting Helles. This is a REALLY tasty Helles, it has this deep, malty flavor that I connect with excellent German Helles lagers. Since 1752.
Brewed by Weldebräu GmbH & Co KG, Plankstadt, Germany. 5.3% ABV, brewed according to the German Beer Purity Law of 1516.
Kurpfalz Bräu has a deep golden color, good body, medium carbonation, not much head and a very small amount of lacing. Das ist gutes Bier!
Drinking a buddy's HB Kolsch, brewed with some quinoa (not GF, though). Never had a beer that used quinoa, so don't have anything to compare this to, but it's mighty tasty. And waiting for the apple pie my wife just baked to cool. Life is uncertain--have dessert first. Then it's homemade pizza tonight.
First pour of my “Back 40” pale ale, with homegrown Cascade and CTZ hops. Not a lot of hop presence but enough to let me know they’re there. Wasn’t sure what I’d get from first year plants. Still, a very easy drinking pale.
12BOC23 Spiced Cherry Dubbel. Subtle cherry aroma and flavor, nice dubbel character, beautiful label. 11% abv; don't taste it but it doesn't take long to know it's there! Very good job, @kwilson16 !
