My Label
I have a barley wine in primary that is around 4 days old...I will be adding a couple ounces of "Special Hops" when primary is complete...after soaking to remove nasty tannins/leafs taste...Heres my question should i add the "special hops" a couple days before bottling as stated here in this quote
"in the recipes section of the book, the **** ballyhooers recommend dropping the presoaked "Special Hops" into the secondary fermentor two to three days before bottling, so the alcohol that's built up can dissolve the water insoluble THC. This sounds sensible. Urifortunately, nowhere in the book could I find anything about the taste of this beer, surely an issue when many home brewers may worry that the resulting beer would taste like bong water. While I 've never tasted a "special Hopped" beer when it's brewed right, I am told on good authority that it has a nice sort of peppery flavor to it. And of course there are the aftereffects..."
Or add them during secondary and "age" them for a little...
This is an experimental beer so hopes aren't set to high!
