It's early yet but I'm very disappointed with this latest HB. Talk me off the ledge!!

In my mind when I worked up the recipe, yes I was going for a new style wcipa, crisp and clear. But I think perhaps Bru-1 hops might not be the best hop for this, it seems to have other ideas. I've since decided not to add any gelatin or Biofine. I'm instead embracing the idea of just letting it be what it's going to be. I also found out, after the fact, that Bru-1 hops has been found to be pretty good at holding haze stability, so I won't fight it. If it stays hazy that's fine, if it eventually clears on its own that's fine too.
They charge extra for that on the East coast. Looks enticing. Glad to hear it’s settling down. Never heard of Bru-1. I’ll have to read up.

About a week and a half ago I kegged a west coast Pilsner. After a couple days in the kegerator I burst carbonated it and then relieved the pressure and put it on serving pressure before leaving town for a few days.
Initially it tasted amazing. I Bittered with a small charge of magnum and I used citra for late additions and dry hop.
When I returned home it had a sort of raw grain/ grassy flavor. I was worried it would become a dumper.
Now a few days later, that grainy/ grassy flavor is nearly gone and it’s becoming what I aimed for. A little better every day. Though next time I’ll shoot for a bit higher IBU.

Quite similar to what I went through. I'm glad yours is working out for you too. :mug:

Ive found that fining a beer like a WCIPA really helps mature the beer after dry hopping. The aromas and flavors become less muddled and more bright and it helps drop the polyphenols which can lend grassy and harsh flavors on the finish. Something to consider…

Yeah, it’s definitely drinkable now, and if the brewing gods are with me it’ll hopefully improve even more. In all honesty I should’ve known better than to panic so quickly.
