I brewed a strong ale with Rochefort yeast (1762 wyeast I believe) 10 days ago. Today I went downstairs and noticed a huge amount of yeast (a cup or so) sitting at the bottom of the solution that my blowoff tube was submerged in. This was a starsan solution, so I'm curious if this yeast would be dead? It's very fluffy and white and smells... very yeasty. Could I save this yeast and make starters in the future with it, or would being in the starsan solution have killed it all?

Offhand sound like a bad idea. Your going to have a pile of yeast available in the fermenter if you want to do a harvest. Why would you do this?

Spend about 6 bucks and get yourself a smack pack of fresh yeast. Don't bother with the stuff in the bucket.
