I want to build a CO2 manifold for my kegs, but I need some advice.

Can teflon tape, or something else, be used to make a seal between tapered and straight threads?

I'm thinking about using something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-4BSP-Fema...639524?hash=item2c9c960964:g:DVgAAOSwGotWhL2g

and mounting these or some other valves http://www.ebay.com/itm/5pcs-1-4-BS...688605?hash=item4d3b149d9d:g:PZoAAOSwQoFWQGqj

and this so I can connect CO2 to it http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gas-Ball-Lo...300001?hash=item33ace941e1:g:6wAAAOSwFGNWRbLh

I believe all these parts have parallel threads of the same kind. Will parallel threads seal with teflon tape?

All these parts are cheap chinese things, so it might just become a CO2 leaking POS.

Straight threads need either a seal ring or a tapered shutoff to seal up. You won't get a male straight thread to reliably seal in a tapered pipe thread (manifold appears to be tapered). I'm not an expert on British threads but I'd guess they won't even start together.

I looked into building my own and I turned out to be money ahead just buying a brewing specific CO2 manifold from my LHBS. You'll want ball valves with a check valve built in which the linked ones don't have. You also don't need the ball lock post, just a barbed fitting to attach the hose to.

Here's what I have:

I'm open to suggestions about what parts I should buy to build one.
