Vintage brass taps viable?

In the process of a keezer build with a rustic/vintage look and have seen some actual vintage brass taps for sale online that are tarnished but also look incredibly stylish.

Can antique brass taps be made to be viable again or would this be a fools errand?

Is lead a real concern from old brass taps?

Brass can be treated ("pickled") to remove surface lead.
Don't know if that would bring a full brass dispensing system into a 'GRAS' state but it couldn't hurt...
