uummmm. Help I think?

Not to suffer from nervous mother syndrome, but my latest batch has a lot of gas. I mean a lot. Does this look normal?

This is only my second batch ever, The one on the left is an Irish stout, that bubbled very little, and is now in it's secondary.

This is a Coopers dark Ale I mixed last night, It's about 24 hours old.

Is this normal? SG last night after mixing was 1.042

your airlock is probably plugged and pressure is building in your bucket. better vent that lid or you're going to paint your ceiling with krausen.

Oh and if you do, grab a camera.:cross:

+1,000,000,000 to venting that thing. She's ready to blow. Other than that, looks pretty normal.

Your blowoff tube is clogged. All the pressure is building in the bucket. Take off the top (back away) and clean it out before sanitizing and putting the lid back on. Otherwise that top WILL blow off completely and make a giant mess.

Yes, you need to vent. Next batch get an airlock with a bung that will fit in that hole and use a blowoff tube the size of the inside of the top. The tube you have is pretty small and looks close to kinking at the top.

Took out the cork and it let out a small poot, no louder than say opening a can of soda. The top seems to like its new shape. I reinstalled the cork and bubbles imidiately started flowing. I will keep an eye on it tonight.

The OP said earlier that it is now permanently shaped like that! That was some crazy force to put a permanent bend in it

These guys don't know what they're talking about. You are fine, nothing will happen.

Just grab a high speed camera, point at the bucket/ceiling and press record....just for fun, no other reason.

Yup, my last batch blew it's top overnight. Painted the laundry room (thank god I wasn't using the 2nd bedroom that time, as no carpet was ruined) with krausen. There are still little chunks I can't get off the wall. Beer turned out great, however.
