I have a hard time believing they're gonna sell anywhere near 500 of these since they're not changing it. What they should have done if they didn't want to/can't include beer or discounted beer is made 2 tiers and done something like:
$50 for 2 glasses, a t-shirt and the right to buy 8 bottles
$100 for 2 glasses, a t-shirt, admission to an event, and the right to buy 8 bottles + 2 exclusive bottles

that way non-locals can feel like they're not paying for something they'll never use and you're paying a few bucks more a bottle to guarantee you get bottles. I'd be willing to wager they'd raise more money doing 250 of each of those than they will doing 500 of their current offering.

I for one would do option #1 in a heartbeat.

They could have even made tiers that didn't include the right to buy bottles. I threw $27 at the Prairie Kickstarter back in the Spring just to get the Teku glass. Never had their beers, but decided to support and get a cool glass out of it. They raised double what the goal was (although $500 x 250 is way more than the $20k or so Prairie raised).

No reason they couldn't have done something like Crooked Stave did with their memberships with the beers being offered with the membership were member only beers. That gets around the "can't give discounts" since is exclusive beers. And then they could also give the members the right to be first in line for the other releases.

Caleb should probably stop posting in that thread, he's not making them look any better

Again, we saw and still see enough conflict in our state laws that we can't risk any form of pre-selling or discounting beer activity. Is $450 total really that much more than other breweries programs?

And the other item I throw out there is you are allowed to share membership cost with other people. Just a recommendation, feel free to discuss.

It's like this guy never learned the concept of division...

They really should have just called this an "investor opportunity" or something... It doesn't really make it worth it, but at least you are being honest about your intentions to simply get free money to expand.

Caleb is killing any legitimacy left... I like the guy, but damn "you could split the cost" really doesn't fly... Then I get FOUR overpriced bottles, ONE glass, MAYBE access to an even I can go to
..... And half a damn certificate... For $125? Somehow that sounds like a worse deal, I think it's the certificate

Who gets to go to the damn beer event with only one ticket? Do they both go for half of it?

If their program is successful I'm gonna open a pizza place next to the brewery. It's $100 for a large cheese pizza but you're allowed to share the pizza/cost with other people.

They have to enter like in a potato sack race and they only get a single tasting glass which they have to drink out of simultaneously. It is not gay if you don't touch tongues.

You're missing the point. You give people the option of paying $100 at the door, so that they have the privilege of ordering from a special toppings menu that the rest of the customers can't. But they still have to pay for the special toppings. And some special toppings will be available to everyone anyway, but the customers who paid the $100 fee at the door can order them first.

Edit: And the customers who pay $100 at the door get to eat off a special fancy plate, which they can even take home as a souvenir.

Is he crazy? $450 for 8 bottles of US lambic and some swag? You could place an order to Belgium for some Cantillon, 3F and De Cam and SAVE yourself $100+ rather than do this.

Let's look at how other places have done it:

The Bruery - $295 - 8 bottles
Crooked Stave - $300 - 20 bottles
Wakefield - $300 - 7 bottles
Cigar City - $125 - 5 bottles
Night Shift - $150 for 7 bottles, $250 for 14, $450 for 28
Pelican - $36 for 6 bottles, $120 for 16, $300 for 36, $500 for 72

So, yes, it really is THAT much more than other programs. Even Wakefield, the priciest one (which was a Kickstarter to fund their taproom), nearly gave people the same amount of beer for $50 more than the cost of Upland's "Society" which comes with NO BEER.

Does the pizza come with a certificate?

no certificate but you do get a clean plate award sticker to wear if you finish all your pizza

The more I look in the mirror the more I feel shame for how hard I let myself get ******.

No reach around.

No tip left on night stand.

No flowers.

No breakfast in bed.

And I had to pay for it, twice.
Who are you kidding, with that raping you weren't getting ****** anywhere near a bed.

To add, Wakefield is hoping to provide more bottles and you get a discount on the next year's membership price

I'm going to feel bad for Upland when their Secret Barrel tastings are all of 20 suckers who signed up. With the "exclusive" sours, members will probably have the ability to buy 50 bottles each.
