Brewed my beer yesterday, only my second attempt. Anyway, Im realizing I underpitched my wort as I only used 1 smackpack and my OG was 1.078.

So I dont have anymore Wyeast and I would have to go out of town to get it but I have a few fresh packs of Safale US-05 Ale yeast.......would pitching the dry yeast affect things badly since I used liquid yeast to start?

No real fermentation yet after just over 24 hrs, temp is a stable 69F. Small thin layer of krausen not quite covering the whole top has just started.

Just wondering what I should do

If you have krausen, it sounds like the yeast has reproduced and is working. While it is still under pitching, it sounds like it's going to be okay.

Agreed, the best result is likely to wait it out. 24+ hours before significant activity in an under-pitch is hardly unusual; heck, according to many in the current US-05 thread it's par for the course with a solid pitch and that's a rather similar performing strain to Wyeast 1272...

Cheers!
