I have a bottle of Welch's 100% white grape and cherry juice = 64 fl oz .. To which I will add 2 cups of sugar and 1 half a pack of Fermintis brand Pasteur Red dry wine yeast .. My question is should I try to make a yeast starter to get things moving along faster?? .. I've tried this recipe once without rehydrating the yeast or making a yeast starter and final result was tasty , but fermentation was slow and weak .. I have a stir plate setup , just looking for a simple wine yeast starter to help things go smoother

One pack of yeast should be good for up to 6 gallons of wine so even half a pack in 64oz is probably overkill so a starter shouldn't be necessary. Wine yeast likes it warm if you ferment at ale temps (60's) it can be slow (learned that myself)
