I am going to receive about 200ml of yeast and wort slurry(75%/25%) from a local microbrewery to use in my homebrew 2 days later. I was thinking of giving them a sanitized graduated canning jar, ice packs, and a cooler for transporting the yeast to my house and then I would keep it refrigerated until brew day when I'll warm it up and add fresh wort to jump-start the yeast. Does this sound like a good plan? Do you have any suggestions? Should I tell them to leave the cap loose until it is cold because of the yeast fermenting and creating gas/pressure? All help would be appreciated. Thank you and cheers!
