Does anyone ever get Cantillon

Sent from my SPH-L710 using Home Brew mobile app

A shop I go to hoards it. They release at random times through face book. I've seen it happen only 2 times over the past year. Usually 2 different ones, I'm not convinced that's all they get!

He got that at the brewery :cross:

Yes, I know. That's another place I doubt I'll ever get to go. I think the closest I'll get to Cantillon is ordering from Être Gourmet or Belgiuminabox. But with the price of shipping alone, my wife might kick me out if I went through with it.

Initybrew blew up my porch ! Thanks a ton man. This is after FedEx lost the first one he sent me.

Very nice! Dark truth is a great stout and I didnt know they made sawtooth with nitro as well, I wish I could get that. Great haul there saison clint :D

Hey skeezer if you dont mind me asking, how much would you say you paid per bottle?

A shop by me has iris, lou pepe, and some others behind the counter but are going for what seems like an outrageous amount of money that im not ready to pay for a bottle. $50 and $100 dollars per.

Anyone have experience buying cantillon in the states?

I can't get them locally but what I've seen they are going for 50 in 750 and 25 for 375. It's crazy, I'm sure the brewery does not what them to sell it that high.

I have only bought a few in the states. Paid $40 in Boulder, CO for a St. Lamvinus, and scored some Rose de Gambrinus in WI for ~$25 per 750.

The place I got those in that picture from were cheap (at the Cantillon brewery). The most I paid was 18EUR ($25) for the 50N40E. Heck, a 750ml of the "easy to get stuff" like kriek, gueze, and rose were under $7 if I remember right.

Thats insane that store owners can get away with gouging that goes on from brewery to customer.

As someone said earlier im sure the breweries themselves do not like the gouging either as it can discourage not rich people (read: me) from
Buying their products.

Thanks for sharing and that is an awesome haul you got there. I remember when you posted it originally. Cheers and enjoy.

I think the markups on something like Cantillon are a little different from someone marking up BCBS or Backwoods Bastard. Shipping costs etc have to be factored in. Still not right to charge $100 probably, unless it's a vintage bottle.

But def no excuse for shops charging 2-3x markups for current releases of domestic bottles.

Well, bars do the same thing. Where can you get a pint of good craft beer for $2? It's more like $6-7.

I need to be on the list too!

Small package out for delivery to you today Mark. The bigger and better one is making a much slower UPS trip to Philly and won't be there until next week.
