Top off water

Just wrapped a 1gal NB Hefe kit. Well...about 1.5hr ago. All went well but I ended up with about .8gal wort in the fermenter post boil and OG was 1.054 which seems slightly high.

Should I leave it be or top it to 1gal with some tap water?

If it's higher than you want top it off.

Yes, top off the fermentor to the recipe volume. Your boil off turned the recipe into the technique called partial boil.

If it's a 1 gal batch that, or slightly more, is what needs to go into the fermenter.
