To much priming sugar

I think I added too much priming sugar if it is carbonated enough can I put that in the fridge to stop the rest of the carbonation
 
Indeed. The cold will put the yeast to sleep. Careful because warming them up will cause the yeast to wake up and resume carbonation.

Now, leaving leftover sugars should sweeten the beer a bit.
