So i started mish mashing recipes together first wanted to do a black IPA then I've really wanted to do a rye porter so I thought why not add some rye to this so that led me to the Wookie Jack recipe so I've mish mashed them both and think I've came up with something but want to get some thoughts. I plugged this into Beersmith and this is what came out.

OG: 1.066
FG: 1.014
IBU-64
SRM-31
ABV-6.8%
Yeast- 2 packs of US-05. Id normally do a starter of 001 but ran out of time.

12 lb- US 2 row
1 lb 7oz- Rye Malt
12oz- Carafa III
8oz- C10
6.1oz- Special Roast
8oz- Midnight wheat (I dont know if my LHBS has this but if they do I'd like to add it)

Total- 15.58lbs

Hops are:

.85oz Centennial 60min
.85oz Cascade 20 min
.78oz Amarillo 15min
1oz Galaxy 5 min
1oz Cascade FO/steep
1oz Centennial FO/Steep
(I may add a 10min addition of .78oz Amarillo too)

1oz ea Cascade, Amarillo, Simcoe dry hop for 5-7 days

So my goal in this is to get a nice mix of roastiness from the dark malts and spiciness from the rye with fruitiness from the hops. Pleas let me know any thoughts on this.

Anyone??? I've never used alot of these specialty grains before and don't know if I'm overdoing it. Maybe beersmith takes care of that for me. Idk.

I do an Imperial rye CDA every year about this time, in fact I'm brewing this years tomorrow.

Here's what I use. 2 row, rye, chocolate rye, midnight wheat, and Simpson medium crystal. I've used carafa before and didn't like it as much as my current bill. It's been several years of refining and this is my favorite.
