Gas pumps that have loud-ass speakers and video screens showing freakin' commercials while I'm trying to pump gas. STFU already.

oh eff yeah, this one

I'll drive past a station with TVs to get to one that doesn't, even if it means paying an extra ¢ or 2 a gallon

wouldn't be bad, if they just showed, I dunno... traffic? weather? and didn't have sound

but they show commercials for the freaking gas station itself. you don't need to sell it, dudes... I'm already here.

Saw one that was part of a game show. Once you start filling, the host asks you to sing and dance a particular song, and if the audience votes right, you get the full tank free.

To get me singing and dancing on national tv it'd take more than a few bucks worth of gas.

2nd on my list of annoys me pet peeves is crappy youtube videos shot by some ****stick on his hand-held cellphone aimed at his TV

You'd think they'd at least be able to put the phone on something stable instead of making it look like they're in the middle of an earthquake.

Yesterday while shopping, with my wife, kid and I exit this Coach Outlet Store first holding the door for my wife and son.

Then an entourage of ho-beotches fail to take hold of the door while exiting.... I let it go on the women walking in, who fail to take hold of the door too, and I get a glare!

This might be a dyck move, I'm like **** you, I'm not a door man. (Thought this, but didn't say it aloud.)

It was probably a half dozen women going both going in and out....

Now I might understand this if they were elderly, walking with a cane, or on crutches, but they weren't. Probably none of them over 40.

WTF - They can't grab the door?

I try to hold doors for anyone coming through the same door .. young, old, male, female, black, Hispanic .. makes no difference.

It is a feeble attempt to make people think that I am kind, gentle, friendly, accommodating and polite. Of course, I am none of those.

But say I'm 20 yards away and someone is standing there holding the door and I'm the only person in sight. Dude! Just f-ing go already!

Yep. Don't make me feel obligated to run because you're holding the door. Ha!

I will do that for elderly people and wait until they are ready for the door to be opened.

This kinda bugs me: why does a major yeast producer list the attenuation range for one of their strains as 74-82%, when their own forced ferment yielded only 71.3?

Only one of those data actually appears on the packaging, of course...

Cheers! (I don't actually get annoyed much...I get stabby ;))

Do you use Mr Malty?

http://mrmalty.com/calc/calc.html

I have heard people slam S-33 bad only to find later they way under pitch on their Big Belgian Whatever.

Try this.

I did a 1.085 with two packs, rehydrated, and it attenuated per the published yeast specs.

LMAO! Did you actually read what I wrote?

Sheesh... ;)

[Add that to my list...]

Ok that was stupid...

I learned something new today.

After ten years of brewing I didn't know what a forced ferment was, so i read what you wrote but didn't understand it, I assumed It was something else. Most people with attenuation problems are from under pitching.

Shucks should have slept at a Holiday Inn.

So they do tests occasionally to check their process, and don't change their packaging. I wonder if they report (publish) the real numbers once a year.

I assume they do a lab version that it's more accurate and then the forced ferment that needs to be within larger attenuation range to accommodate the margin of error associated from malting, mashing, temperature and the grind.

You have a problem with 3 points...LOL

How did you come to this being an issue?

What made you look into this?

Just curious.

what would be the complete opposite of that gif of Colbert wearing the 3D glasses & eating popcorn?

This?

Why don't you explain...

Otherwise to me it is 2.7%.

Attenuation describes how much of the wort has fermented. The difference between the 2 numbers on a wort of a known OG and FG is not the same as the difference between the two numbers.

With these published numbers, one would question the lab's ability to create a reliable test case, repeatability and the observed measurements.
