Thermometers for bayou classic pots

I have a 44 at pot. Started my initial brew... And apparently 3 gallons cooking is a bit shallow...

Before I head up to 10 gallon batches, where can I find a thermometer long enough? I'm a baller on a budget for now. The finance department is watching my purchases closely this month :/
