I had to root for Clemson, though. I have a niece there as a sophomore. They've worked hard this year.

I had to root for Clemson because I HATE Ohio state, and especially mr. Fred Sanford (fake heart attack) at UF. He left my team SCREWED with no talent and can't recruit. Took Ron Zook's team and won two titles and couldn't replace them. Gets "sick" and then goes to a school that should have gotten the death penalty for it's football program with the scandals it had.

Same here. But then again, I'm a Michigan fan. Michigan would have done a better job against Clemson. Not saying they would have one, but it would have been a better game for sure.

just running a #Zymatic 3.5 gallon batch, with the draining cycles and recirculating it can take a while, but I can do other things. just hit boil temp. the whole process should be about 5 hours total, no hopstand today.

And flameout! Time to let mother nature do her job and cool my wort. It's cold enough outside to do it that way, but it will take several hours. I have patience.

i have never used a whirlfloc? Does it help out with beer qualities?

Well it's supposed to help in the clarification process. But honestly, I find using gelatin to clear the beer works way better. I will still use the whirfloc nevertheless.

Ice bath or chiller would have done the job much quicker. But, mother nature is taking it low and slow and no use of extra water. 36F outside right now. It dropped the wort temp about 30 degrees in the last half hour. Not much longer to go and then pitch the yeast (after taking OG).

Oh and I get to use my Tilt during the fermentation process. This will be interesting to see how well it works.

I'm a tech savvy guy. That is literally my job. The Tilt is a piece of crap. If you are thinking of getting one, don't. Waste of money.
