Have they been releasing it regularly? How hard is it to find with the new release format? Will be visiting from Winnipeg in the fall and thought I was out of luck for a few bottles.

It disappears pretty quickly but at least it gets released a little more regularly. There's still plenty around at the less popular bottle shops.

Just came across this forum after recently finally joining BA. Former Vancouverite, now Vancouver Islander. Was new to craft beer scene while in Van so never met any of the craft beer folk there but hoping to meet some peeps for shares etc when I manage to visit Vic/Van. Keep seeing same faces at Farmhouse, Zwanze at Drake etc so would be great to actually put names to faces.

Hey everyone - headed your way this Thursday through next Thursday on a (seemingly annual now) Whistler trip. What's new since last March? I haven't been to Strange Fellows, Steamworks, or Postmark yet, so I'm guessing those should happen? Four Winds is also likely. Anything else going on?

Newer places you might not be aware of / have not been before that are worth going to would be Twin Sails, Luppolo, Orchard and the Sea (cider), Darby's Gastown. There's probably some others that I'm not thinking of, but all four are great.

I'll be up in Vancouver in a few weeks as well. Kid free weekend at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. Planning on hitting Alibi Room, Strathcona/Superflux and Luppolo on a drunken walking tour while my wife has spa day.

33 Acres isn't far away and family friendly as well. The day I went to Brassneck they were packed and limiting the number of people in at once. That was weird.

Also, if you're driving make sure you stop at Four Winds in Delta.

Yeah, 33 Acres is fine -- good food, too. I wasn't impressed by the beer. A shame about Brassneck -- they were quite light when we were there, and they were awesome. Comped drinks, a toy for our daughter...

Main Street Brewing is in that area as well as Brewery Creek (bottle shop).

They definitely are -- and I should clarify: I liked some beers a lot at 33 Acres, I just wasn't blown away. Well worth walking to.

Agreed. Their beer was ok, but they also make really good coffee. Nice big park for the kids a couple blocks away, too.

That park is really cool -- the suspended platform on the rope that you can rotate across a chasm was a a big hit.

The Wallflower and surprisingly enough, 33 Acres.

I really like Jam Cafe and Twisted Fork, but they're both downtown.

Ended up hitting Luppolo, Callister, Powell and Strathcona on Saturday before doing a flight at Alibi. Walked about 5 miles round trip and totally avoided the rain.

We may have passed one another this weekend. If you saw someone in a Sharks beanie, that was probably me.

Ended up only going to 2 breweries, 33 Acres and Brassneck. I thought 33 Acres was much better than Brassneck. Liked their Hoppy beers, and their french Saison is excellent. Only really enjoyed the dry hopped sour blonde at Brassneck. Everything else was kind of meh.

I was able to get a couple of flights around the city as well; Alibi had a great selection, and food was good too. The brewery that I really want to check out on my next visit is Twin Sales. I had a single hop Simcoe and single hop Citra pale ale that were both phenomenal. Need to try more of their stuff.

Wallflower was a good breakfast spot, as was Jethro's Fine Grub. I wished I knew how gigantic the pancakes were there. You could easily feed a family of four with a single order. Cascade Room was a good place for cocktails and it helped it was right around the corner from our Air BnB.

Sharks lost in OT unfortunately, but we still had a great time at the game. I lost my voice for a bit from all the yelling I was doing.

All in all we had a great time in the city. Thanks to everyone for the recommendations.

How does Zwanze work in Vancouver? I'll be there in September and I'd love to get a taste, but I don't know if in Canada it's the same queueing/tickets etc circus as in the US.
