Any word on how they're going to support believers club and a public release for bottles (at least for the initial releases)? Won't the first couple of releases be based on their current production capacity at the original place?

Good question. The last club was only like 40 people so it was easy to just let them have at it and then sell the rest. I know the website has an order form on it but don't know much else. Maybe the first few releases everyone won't be able to buy? Or be limited to 1 / per with extras on sale later? How many memberships did they sell anyway? Like 200?

So Tired Hands, seemingly thanks to the increased brewing capacity at the Fermentaria, is beginning to roll out kegs to Philly bar distribution. They're hitting up 5 bars all throughout Saturday: Local 44, Strangeloves, Standard Tap, Memphis Taproom, and Alla Spina. They're bringing HopHands, SaisonHands, and Rutilant (Nelson Sauvin & Cascade IPA).

glad i won't be near any of those places on saturday.

Me neither. I'll be delighted when I can walk to a bar in Philly & order a HopHands, but I'm not interested in any fanfare.

Similarly, the weekend when the Fermentaria opens up I'm going to certainly go to the original location & enjoy the luxury of open space.

I'm going to leave the new spot alone for a good long while.

As a beer guy what's the appeal? I thought they were only going to serve a few simple beers at the fermenteria and have more offerings at the taproom.
I hadn't heard that. Seems silly to me since the new place is much larger and it will be much easier for them to fill growlers. Forcing people to go to the old restaurant for more interesting beers sounds like a recipe for disaster. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah...the new place is enormous compared to the current location with significantly larger brewing capacity. I'd heard you'll be able to find HopHands and SaisonHands at both locations. As far as the rest of the lineup, I'd heard both locations will have some unique offerings at any given moment. I think too some beer will be brewed at the new place and brought over to the old so they don't have to brew with the same level of frequency at the current location. Again, I have no idea who knows what, an this is just stuff I've taken away from conversations with miscellaneous individuals.

The real question on everyone's mind is will the new place have highchairs. Or at least on my mind.

Or a diaper changing station in the bathroom... I remember thinking he was going to lose his **** once when someone upstairs asked him why they didn't have a diaper changing station in the brewery.

So far what I've heard about the new place. Like already stated, Hophands and Saison hands at both spots, old place will be more of the same, new place will also have a staple beer or two always on. All saisons will go through wood, either barrel or Foeder. Eventually they want to have cases worth of some their releases available so there arent crazy lines(im sure there still will be sometimes) I think the idea of canning was kicked around but apparently they wont be doing it, at least right away but they do have the space for a canner or bottler if they want. They are thinking about installing a time machine to ramp up the production of parageusia. There will absolutely be diaper changing stations, they are attached to the conicals and fold out and are the same as the tap handles.

Ended up going to Alla Spina on Saturday (primarily for the food, which was amazing), Rutilant IPA was pretty solid. SaisonHands didnt quite have the funk/zest that I recall from the brewery, but its been a while since I've been out there.

I did what I said I wouldn't and went to Fermentaria on opening weekend. Place is awesome looking. There's like an infinity of space there. We tried three of the tacos; the food needed more salt in general but the mushroom/eggplant tacos are legit awesome.

You can certainly tell that Jean is oak-fermenting & oak conditioning all of the farmhouse ales in those foeders; both Thesaurus and Shambolic were pretty heavily oaked (in ways that made the beer more complex, even "better," but arguably less drinkable over a full pint). The grisette on now was tamer in the oak department; completely delicious too.

Has anyone received a Believers Club email in the past few months? I've only seen one email from them, way back in December. Wondering if I missed something, or if minimal communication is par for the course for TH.

Thanks!

They sent an email last week about Fermentaria opening. Before that, it had been a while.

Went to the Fermentaria today. A few notes:

- You can make reservations online thru the website. When we got there the restaurant was almost empty, but it's good to know that if I'm planning a trip in a few weeks I can be guaranteed a table. Unlike at the Brew Cafe, where I might have to fight someone for a few inches of bar space.

- The food is AWESOME, but some of it is a little over priced. Three tiny oysters for $10 was a little bit of an overpay, but everything else was pretty fairly priced. I can personally recommend the brisket tacos and the shishito peppers.

- Ample public parking, which is a nice upgrade. Also the service was superb. I've seen complaints about service at the Brew Cafe before (though I've never had an issue) and I can say this place has a very professional, attentive staff.

- After we ate and had some tasters, we actually walked over to the Brew Cafe, which is literally less than 5 minutes away, and had an almost entirely different draught list. So for those of us that aren't local, it's kind of like visiting two incredible breweries.

- Oh, yeah, and the beer was good too.

Para4 this Sunday at the Fermentaria. One bottle per person "per day". 400 bottles total, counting Believer's Club reservations.

Update came out about the "per day" statement. Basically, the email is a form email and "per day" will only apply to bottles that don't sell out. Guess we'll be seeing nice big bottle counts in the future.
