All Hallows Eve dinner announced. $15 more than last year. People are probably already lining up. http://www.tiredhands.com/blog

ha. yep.

i went the first year because i could just email and reserve my spot, pay for it later... then last year it was on site only and of course i couldn't make it there in time before they sold out. probably not gonna even try this year. $150 date night is pricey, but not unreasonable. don't think i can justify two bills.

edit: For the more snarky version of this, click this link instead: http://bit.ly/1wmd6WR
edit2: Also, I've heard the new version will be more traditional. Percentage off everything you buy and a set amount of bottles per year.
edit3: Also funny that it's mostly just me asking questions on that page.

Thanks. I heard of it but wasn't exactly sure of the details. I even looked on their page and apparently I can't read very well. If only someone started a Center for people who can't read well and want to learn how to do other stuff good too.

It helps that I knew there was a blog post out there so that's why I just went to google.

WoodLaHands this Sunday.
$16 4/ 600 bottles.
Been wanting this one for a while. Didnt try it on tap.

I want to try it... don't usually care for sour browns but definitely curious

I got to try a bottle of Woodlahands earlier this month and it was sensational. One of the best beers I have ever had. I wish I could make it to the release, this is one bottle I'd want more of.

Pretty similar as before but limiting the bottle release bonus to only 1 year.

edit: And unfortunately no $250 level.

Yep. But if you accept proxies then it's no real surprise. Opening it up to the whole country makes things go fast.

I was hoping for a 250$ level. 500$ ones seemed to sell out in 20 minutes or so. I'm not sure what kind of person has 1,000 or 2,000$ just hanging out in their bank ready to spend on beer but I'd like to be friends with them. I think I have 7$ till pay day haha

Well, it's $1000 to spend on beer for multiple years.
Exactly. The only actual "cost" of these memberships is whatever interest or return on investment you would have gotten on your money over the next 3-5 years (that's how long the gift cards are good for unless you spend thru them sooner) by keeping it in some sort of income producing account or using it for some other investment vs. paying it to Tired Hands now.

It'd be a different story if the gift card was for less than the membership cost (ie: $800 gift card for a $1,000 membership), but the gift card and membership are $4$. Plus, if you take the $1,000 one for example, you're getting $1,250 worth of beer for $1,000, which for most is going to already negate any lost opportunity cost vs. keeping your $1,000. You're also getting a t-shirt, glassware, etc for free and you're saving X number of hours of your time over the next 1-3 years by not having to line up outside the brewery at 8 AM on a Sunday.

Now if I lived in CA or something and never go to Tired Hands to use the discount, then there's no ******* way I'd do any of these. If you're local though, and go to TH at least semi regularly, then this is a no brainier (unless you need the money now for something else obviously)

tl;dr: If you have the cash, it's worth it.

TH is NOT promoting Social Responsibility.
Nothing to do with beer.
How many young beer geeks have that kind of scratch lying around (before buying any beer)?
Craft beer and brewery memberships are killing this economy.
