A wonderful, simple banger

Seek out some Anna while you're at it. Probably my favorite regular offering from HF. Both beers are outstanding.

I prefer Anna to Arthur. But I think part of this stems from the fact that the very first Anna I ever had was "Magic Anna."

(I just learned about this recently, and that explains why none of the Saisons from HF I've had since then have been quite as good as that first one)

I've been neglecting one of my favorite threads on this site. Some recent saisons:

I really enjoyed the malt build on this guy. I remember thinking it was like D'Epeautre but with brett.

Just tons of horseblanket. The brett ate everything up.

Brett, old peaches, some hoppyness and a very "fluffly" mouthfeel. Very impressed with Central Standard's beers so far.

And just a classic. No need for baby diaper brett or stomach acid. Just super dry with that beautiful Blaugies yeast. Glad they come in 375s now too!

I swear I've had the worst luck with Fantome. I'm done with them, this beer was really bad unfortunately.

Super dry but not in a good way, had an astringent, bitter soap flavor that lingered forever. Mouthfeel was oddly full and coating. Super heavy on isoamyl acetate, had a ton of banana and pear (also not in a good way). The only redeeming quality was the nose which was excellent somehow.

I swore off Fantome after trying at least 15 different bottles over a period of a few years and never having a good one. I don't need to gamble on my beer with so many good options around.

I feel bad for you guys. Outside of the "tire fire" era of Tomes, I've never had a bad bottle.

Well this was a treat. I'm glad I picked up my allotment of this one.
Probably my new favorite non fruited Jester King beer. It's exactly what I wanted it to be.

Dry, effervescent, hints of hay, citrus peel, light fruit, a nice mineral character and wonderful earthy flavor and aroma. It's fantastic for sure.
