I like to think Levi is somewhere right now practicing powerlifting and comparing notes with Carleton on the best form of tricep extensions

I just use a Tug Toner for everything now. Too many injuries, too many beers.

The difference between '07 and '13 is the webz has grown. More and more Google searches for "Beer Advocate" will turn up more negative posts/sites about how the 'bros' are complete Mass-hole dickbags. After the first mass sacrifice of '07 "Night of the Long Knives" there were a few sites setup, but most were closed and invite only.

The Asstrom Bros only care about their rating database, for all those that were banned, check to see if your rates are still there. They may ban you, but for the mega contributers...they'll keep your ratings simply because that drives their business.

Now...they're being worse than before. Not just checking BM's and banning people for speaking their minds, but searching other websites. WTF! How simple minded and little do you have to be?! They have the same MO, but more and more people are becoming aware of this. Their brand is being diluted with all the other sites existing or coming online. BA had the unique opprotunity to corner the market...instead, they were fat, lazy and banned their contributiors. Way to go.

The ironic part of CerealKillerKP's post is that Levitation isn't even here.

Wait, someone's going to post thatsthejoke.jpg at me. **** you in advance.

1) Accept criticism, even if it’s worded harshly. Trolls can be right, too.
2) For everyday rule violations, alter the post to remove the offending content and make a clear note indicating its removal and the reason for it.
3) Delete posts only when the content is completely unsalvageable and the user is a repeat violator.
4) Ban users only after repeated, flagrant violations.
5) Don’t allow users to abuse the report function to carry out grudges.
I’m a moderator at a forum that is considerably larger than BA, and these are pretty much exactly the unwritten rules we live by. And not coincidentally, we’ve never had a mass purging in the 13 years we’ve been operational. It’s not that difficult to hold together a decent moderation staff…

I know, I'm not sure the bros understand their moderation style ends up provoking people, who eventually troll them out of spite and result in harsher moderation practices. It's like they bring it on themselves.

Forgive me for being ignorant, but I'm still not seeing the whole picture. Were most of you banned, or did most of you decide to vacate after a few of your friends got reprimanded?

I posted this on the general help forum after noticing that everyone was gone and no one had responded to a thread for hours...

"Sorry for the delay in response. Usually posts like these get answered within mere minutes, but it seems that a huge number of the most knowledgable contributors to these forums have recently been banned.

In an attempt to be helpful myself, without having any actual first hand knowledge, I would recommend checking out this recent discussion:

Edit: Lost my posting privilegesBAnned. "inappropriate language, abusive, overly aggressive, threatening or any form of "trolling

As someone else eloquently put it on here:

"Outright deletion of threads is one of the worst possible ways to moderate a discussion forum and that's their primary method."

Um, did any of the lady posters from BA make it over here yet. I mean I like you guys and all, but this seems like a huge cock fest.

Mods: Please move this to the ITT: Sword Fighting thread

Call me a conspiracy theorist but more and more this looks utterly planned. Much like the 07 cleaning and booting a lot of the older people, or shall I say, more passionate.
For them it looks like a clean slate, new beginning, whatever. In reality maybe it is better as a hobby site than anything else. Maybe that is the direction that they should have gone in a while ago.
Just my .05 cents, no pennies in Australia. Moderation got too heavy handed in the last few months
To be clear, I wanted like this twice - once for content, once for there not being pennies in Australia
