Ive been known to order a big beer and then ask, after its been poured into a stemmed glass, to pour the beer in any other glass they have. This way you have the same volume and not a silly brandy glass. I get strange looks but my pinky isnt extended

You sound like you'd be fun at parties.

Anyway, good news everyone! The craft beer bubble isn't busting!

Source: A new brewery is opening in my town in a couple months.

Someone was hurt bad by fancy glasswear. I think I remember something like this on Springer.
I have scars from pint glasses. My wife is still ticked that I refused to get stitches.

How am I supposed to give a quality answer when you did not specify which one?

Please...put a little effort into your questions and I’ll put a little effort into my answer

This is a serious topic. Please .. a little respect
First come-back Elvis. Black leather suit, long side burns. Oh wait.....

The rest of the country may still be filling in and growing but in Denver there is going to be a rash of small brewery closings this year, several breweries are up for sale currently and we are starting to see guys close that opened 2-3 years ago. I'm fine with it, our market is too heavily saturated with decidedly 'Meh' beer made on 1-3bbl systems for $7 a pint.

I love the Denver beer scene. My sister in law lives out there. While I agree with you that there is a lot of "meh" beer being sold, there's a lot of good beer being sold in Denver as well.

It was never there. I dont speak Belgian and I prefer pancakes to waffles
You'll be okay. The Belgians don't speak "Belgian" either! The official languages are Dutch, French, & German. Wallon is the local version of French which is spoken by about 1/3 of the population.

In MD it is growing at a rate that I cannot believe to be sustainable. The prices people are paying for beer, as well as the lines outside before opening when there are can releases are unbelievable. $18 for a 16oz can of some sour beer that is sweetened with Icee flavoring seems crazy to me......but anyway.....

I just don't see all of these breweries (or this number of breweries) being here in 5 years even though the number is still climbing.....and even if they all make exceptional beer and maintain great business practices and management. The market is getting pretty crowded IMO.

Oh yes, it's just the exception now and no longer the norm. Bierstadt Lagerhouse, Crooked Stave, a few others are truly exceptional. I'm speaking more for the very small operations that quit their cushy corporate job to "live the dream" because it's trendy.

I drink my malt liquor from a red solo cup with my pinky extended.

I also am an old tea drinker.

Fight me.

Seriously as long as it's not a frosted glass, I don't care. My go-to glassis are a nonic and a stemmed snifter. Namely because they're the big ones (proper pints, none of the 16 oz nonsense).

Something to consider, breweries may choose their glassware out of necessity. Like if there's no way to put in a three compartment sink in a way to wash glasses in a way that that is both efficient and satisfies health code so they just use plastic cups. True story. (And before anyone says it, the place in question was open before taprooms were legal, so it wasn't in the plans...)

Hogshead is the best brewery in Denver, if not the country. Fight me.

And now I have a few to try when the wife and I visit my parents for the holidays...
Still need to do tours at New Belgium, Oskar Blues, and Odell (personal favorite). Ironic since I went to CSU, but never found the time to go...

We are truly in a renaissance period of locally brewed beer, and I am loving the experience. Being in my late 50's I grew up in a period where breweries were in a steady decline, and where the idea of going to a local brewery was not even remotely possible. Now the choices in my area are going exponentially, and I plan on making the most of both the beer tasting and the brewery experience that comes with it. I am sure over the next couple of years, there will be a shakeout, some will flourish, many will come and go, but I will both support and enjoy the brewers that are driving this renaissance period. And now being a homebrewer, I appreciate the craft of producing a good tasting beer so much more.

Forget Oskar Blues. They are one of the ones that surprise me. I have not liked any of their beers I've had.

Add TRVE Brewing and Equinox to your list. They're pretty good.

I wont go to a brewery after I find out they serve beer in a stemmed glass of any kind.

I'm hoping to gather a following and spread my inclination

It's called rastal teku, you uncultured swine.

I joke, I joke. I don't mind it unless I order a beer thinking it's a pint and they give it to me in teku as if I cannot handle 16 oz of an 8 percenter!

Dang was hoping they had some stuff that might be better than Dale's or Mama's Yella Pils. Those are garbage beers, but that's what they ship to Texas.

Didn't Guinness open a brewery in Baltimore that was a joint venture? Brother lives there and gave me a growler to that one with the first fill up on him.
