I have been pretty dissapointed with most of their BA beers, so I sat this one out.

I have enjoyed some of their recent BA offerings but I couldn't make it because I was out of state getting beer.

it looks like BA flying mouflan has been packaged in 375ml corked and caged bottles and will be released soon.

i am strangely drawn to this beer... it has the potential to be wonderful. anyone try the preview of it via firkin when it was available? i didnt go to try it because it sounded like they really ******* it up with adjuncts. i hope thats not a sign of it being a ****** beer and they needed to spruce it up to make it taste better

edit: friggen 13.4% abv! either they dicked with the recipe or they got some fantastic wet barrels/bourbon extraction during aging...wow

What are Bullfrog releases like? I'm moving to Philadelphia soon and hoping I can make it to a release on a day off if possible. Wondering what to expect...

They don't release bottles often. Near a police station, so no obvious bottle shares. Other than that, pretty much like every other brewery release.

Bullfrog is about 3 hours from Philly so it is probably good that they don't release bottles very often. From my experiences there isn't a whole lot going on in Williamsport unless the little league world series is in town.

What kind of advance notice is typical? Saturday releases or Tuesday at noon or what?

The last release I went to was on a Saturday and I believe there was at least a week notice. It was probably more like two weeks but I can't remember at this point. Hopefully now that they have foeders bottle counts will increase significantly.

Has anyone attended one of zeroday's soft openings or planning on going anytime soon now that they are open?

They open officially to the public in less than an hour. And I gotta admit, as much as a new brewery excites me, im concerned for these folks. I work just a matter of blocks away in downtown Harrisburg and ive walked through the midtown area during my lunch break and its not exactly a friendly/safe area. I was on Reily street yesterday (the street this is supposedly located on) and was haggled by hoodlums congregating on the street in broad daylight.

I hope im wrong about this but I forsee many after hours, post-drinking incidents occuring here. (Christ the road was closed just this morning because of a robbery and suspects shooting at the cop cars!) If you are not familiar with the area, I would highly suggest you get your ass outta there before dark.

Unfortunately fortunately I already have Friendship Blend tickets for that day (Bullfrog release) and can't make this one. Seems easy enough though! With my work schedule in Philly there's no way I could make it over for Cycle style 9 am announcement on a Tuesday for a noon release that day, for example.

Did they announce a release? I can't find info...
For whatever reason im only now seeing that you quoted me. And I assume by now you already saw/read about it. If not, yes 5/9 it is taking place.

In other news...Alpine/Green Flash whatever you wanna call them. Has arrived at Pizza Boy. $10 crowler/1-liter fills of both Hoppy Birthday and Duet.

I saw that... I was thinking of heading down. But work is being dumb.

Anyone try the 717 colab from Pizzaboy, Appalachian & Troegs? Kicked off at HBG Beer Week
I heard the draft is tasty.

The can I had was pretty bad. None of the advertised characteristics...it was metallic and mineral-filled like licking a pocket full of loose change.

Had the draft on Saturday, it was definitely different, but good. Glad I didn't buy 4pks to go. Did you only drink one can? Wonder if it's faulty or if they all followed suite.

I purchased a 4-pack so eventually I will drink the others but for the time being I have no interest in putting that **** in my mouth again. I hope I just had a bad can but I doubt thats the case and im not ready to roll the dice again.

If I find myself in the company of an available pack I'll try to counter that, for the sake of the beloved Pizza Boy Of course.

I am passing also... I do want the blackberry but spent enough on beer this month. Since no limits I'll probably be able to trade for one.

The blackberry is by far the best of the three. I bought a few bottles of it today but passed on the other two.

I tried all 3 at the farm to table dinner a few weeks ago.

Yeah there was a lot.... I didn't see to many people there buying it, and the place was pretty busy. I left at 8:00 PM.
Sweet maybe I'll shoot up there tomorrow.

stakem had the (717) Canned, right off the bat tasted metallic not sure if I anticipated it and forced the taste but it was present, as it warmed it was more pleasant. Won't go out of my way to get another though. Draft is the way to go.

So is this the same raspberry sour that's often on tap? If so LOL at that price.
