Temp change from keezer to beer

Do you notice a temp change between what you set your kegerator/keezer to and the beer that comes out? I just tested with a Thermapen and my beer comes out at 58 but the controller is set for 45. I used the Thermapen to make sure the controller was working and it seems to be accurate. One keg on the hump is 2 degrees warmer than the others and I expected it to be since it was higher. But I thought the kegs on the bottom would be closer to the controller temp.

I should say I haven't installed a fan yet so maybe that will help, unless this is typical.

Installing a fan wil definitely help. Before a fan with my temp set at 38 I had ice on the bottom and 50+degree temps up top. After the fan I get even temps throughout.

Deending on ambient temps your faucets/shanks can warm your beer. Mine were so bad the first pour was always half foam. After moving the fan so it would blow across the end of the shanks that stopped being a problem.

The temp of your glasses will also affect the temp of your beer.

I don't think the glass of water trick will really help now. If the probe is accurate, and I think it is, then it's going to keep that area a constant temperature. If I put it in a glass of water it might not turn on as often but that' won't change the fact that the air is in fact getting warmer. I do have a fan controller on order so after I get that it might all change.

I keep my temp probe taped to the side of one of my cornies.
