All, I have the a standard taprite regulator that came with the factory WYE connection with two check valves. The bottom of the check valves came fitted with screw in 5/16" barbs. I would like to replace the barbs with 1/4" MFL's to end up with a setup like this

Could anyone tell me what the proper name/size for the needed part? I purchased a 1/4" MIP (npt) to 1/4" MFL and it will begin to thread in to the bottom of the valve but stops about half way in. Someone told me that I need a 5/16 straight thread instead of pipe thread to 1/4" mfl but I've been to three local hardware stores and no one has any idea what I am asking for.

Is this a part I can just oder from mcmaster or anywhere else online?

Thanks!

Jon
