I recently installed check valves in my gas lines after an accident that almost cause beer to go into my CO2 regulator.
Now I am carbonating the first beer after installing them and I am finding my beers undercarbonated.

Kegland says the check valves has a opening pressure of 1PSI, does this mean I have to increase the carbonation pressure I use in 1PSI?

Yes.
I have two spring-loaded ball check valves in series in my gas lines - the regulator has one, and the 10-way manifold has them. They are spec'd at 0.5 psi, so I run my regulator pressure 1 psi above "chart pressure" for 2.5 volumes at the 36°F I set my keezer to...

Cheers!
