For my own selfish reasons (fridge space, money, portability), i've opted with a Tap A Draft system for learning how to keg. Eventually, I will upgrade to a kegerator when I have the space and funds. I'm curious, for those using the TAD, how long can you realistically expect to store your beer upright in a TAD bottle before things begin to go down hill?

I have ordered enough bottles to store 3 five gallon batches at a time. Just curious how long they'll generally hold out (stored upright in the dark in the average home closet).

I have 20 tad bottles and the longest I have stored beer in them is 4 months. The beer was great and I dont see a reason why they couldn't be stored longer.

The key is to use Teflon tape and the polyseal caps and to squeeze out all the air in the headspace and to be gentle when moving the bottles.

That's the plan. I want to do about three batches this winter once the weather gets a bit cooler down here in FL, so storing them in a cool dark place after fermentation is going to be crucial.

do NOT store them upright if you have "tapped the draft" ie put a co2 cartridge in it. a guy on here just recently posted photos of his TAD exploding and shattering into many pieces. some one could have been seriously hurt.
