Storing dry Yeast

I just bought an extract kit that came with both liquid and dry yeast. It was only supposed to be liquid so now I have a packet of dry yeast sitting here. Should I keep the dry yeast in the fridge? How long can you keep dry yeast?

i keep all my yeast, dry & liquid, in the fridge...i usually proof my dry yeast if it's really old, but i've always had them take off, even after two or three years of storage.

I keep all my yeast in the fridge as well.
