We're gonna try to replicate a recipe from the book Brewing Classic Styles, the American Brown Ale and the recipe calls for:

Steeping Grains
0.5 lbs Cystal (40L)
0.5 lbs Chocolate Malt (420L)
0.25 lbs Crystal (60L)
0.25 libs Victory (28L)

I've been reading about steeping grains but all the information is related to partial mash recipes where the grains are step in water...so my question is, in a AG recipe how do I do it? Step it in the wort while boiling? mash less and then mix with the step liquid?

All help appreciated.

You just put all the grains together in the mash.
