I'm making a holiday spiced beer today, the spices are fresh ground and the wort volume is 5 gallons. I was thinking of adding 1/4 tsp cloves, 1/4 tsp ginger, and 1 tsp cinnamon at 3 minutes left in the boil. I've never used spices before, and my target OG is 1.065-1.070. does this sound ok to you guys? I am looking to be able to taste the spices somewhat subtly, definitely nothing too overpowering.

Looks good to me. I add a little more cinnamon usually, but I like a little extra spice flavor. I also add the same amounts at bottling time since the flavor will fade with time.

cool, thanks. I'm kegging, I'm hoping to tap it around Dec 16th or so. It's my first spice beer, so I was a little unsure. I've made lavender and tea beers before, but I drank tea for so many years I feel pretty confident with those.
