I am looking at doing my first sour beer and would like to know what type of beer I would use as a base. I have a Canadian blond I was going to use. Would appreciate any advise, as I really am new at this.

I'm not sure what a Canadian Blond is, and there are various kinds of sour beers, but in general I would say go with something pale as a base beer/wort. Pilsner/Pale malt. Maybe some wheat malt. Avoid dark roasted malts. Use crystal malts sparingly, if at all.

Thanks for the advice. Canadian blond is a Coopers golden lager style beer.

The majority of sour beers are made on a simple recipe using 2-4 grains. Pale sours are usually pilsner plus wheat, maybe some oats. Even darker sours tend to be pilsner or pale malt plus two or three specialty malts. What you describe seems like a perfectly fine starting point.
