Sodium metabisulphite for sanitizing

Short question, is sodium metabisulphite ok for sanitizing or will the salt residue hurt my mead ?

It's great for sanitizing- winemakers use it or potassium metabisulfite all the time as a sanitizer. No worries at all.

I was hoping you would reply Yooper, I did a search on sodium metabisulphite and found a thread you warned not to use the sodium in the mead itself because once entered it wouldn’t disperse but the potassium would be fine.That led me to the sanitation question. Thank you very much wise one.
