The snow's melting to the point where matted-down grass is showing. That's always a good sign. Birds were starting to sing this morning too! Wanna fire up the pit for my birthday the end of the month.

It was +10c when I came home from work so we fired up the grill and cooked a big pile of sausages! Snow is gone two months early this year.

Highs in the 50s and the same is forecast for the rest of the week. The snow is mostly gone, only the stuff in the shade and along the curbs. That'll be gone in a few more days.

Bring on spring!

I have this distinct fear that this break in the weather is old man winter's idea of a cruel joke.
You know he is sitting back there saying "that right, pack away all of your winter gear and enjoy the sun...." Then blam! A foot of snow and ice as he walks away laughing at us, flipping us the bird.

Three days above freezing and the piles are still taller than I am. Just finished ice breaking and clearing the driveway this afternoon .

Me and the kid busted up some packed snow and ice in the driveway, then grilled some steaks for dinner.

It was beautiful! Supposed to be just about the same today. Probably (maybe) finish the driveway. It's the Jeep side that's not done, so I might just let it melt on it's own.

We have temps from 39 to 52F through next week sometime. Only a couple inches of snow left & grass peaking everywhere! But the Fox8 news people are saying low 30's will be back, maybe the end of next week? Old man winter needs a kick in the butt.

That's pretty damn hot. We are around 40F this week. Going to try to break down some of the piles to help them melt so I can get my yard back and start using the equipment I bought to switch to all-grain.

Mid 60s all week and 72° Thursday! Taking half the day off to fork around before we have people over for St. Patty's day/kid's birthday.

I was going to have two kegs going, but I've almost kicked the one... so, we'll see.

It's been in the 40s here the last couple of days. It's supposed to be 50+ today, and as high as 60 on Friday. My FIL predicted that most, if not all, of the snow in our yards will be gone by the weekend.

I can see this thing called grass again, and the high for the remainder of the week is 60F. It's a heat wave!

Please see to it that this happens, ok? :D We'll be heading home on Sunday, and should be driving through Madison on our way home, and I'd LOVE there to be no snow in southern and central WI. It's too much to hope that it would be gone at our house, but hopefully it's subsided a lot.

We should be back to the frozen tundra about Tuesday night.

Nothing left here besides little piles in the shady spots. And those will be gone the next day or two, as it's supposed to stay in the 50s and 60s.

Now I get to look at my brown lawn with the crappy snow mold spots, until a few spring rains freshen things up. But I'm not complaining about the warmup.

It's only Wednesday morning and the snow is almost all gone from the yard. The big piles are still around, but they're shrinking away.

Safe travels!

We've had a great last 4 or so days of thawing in the lakes region of NH! Most of my roof snow is gone, which means the winter beard goes too! I've got some grass showing and even some ground thawing, but other places with 5 feet piles still.

IT HAS STARTED!!!

Yep, saw a bit of the grass in spots last night. Maybe when I get home today it will be a large area uncovered!

Time to fire up the BK (for Syrup!)

Snow is gone! Bring on the mud!

I have a love/hate relationship with the spring thaw... on the one hand, it's awesome because, warm.

On the other hand, it sucks for my house because I have a border collie that blows his winter coat and runs around outside in the mud. Hair and mud floccin' everywhere.

Ah well.

Is that brown stuff in my front yard that I haven't seen since late January ... grass???

We were supposed to get 57f today. 51 now. Back to the upper 30's - low 40's for the next week or so.

Holy crap! The tulips and daffodils are starting to poke up through the ground!!!!!

Yup snow is melted - bring on the foggy/rainy/muddy season (wait, is that Spring?). I'll still take it over the snow.

Snow still 2' deep here, thats down from 3'+ deep.
Spring is on the distant horizon here . Snowing now and more expected this weekend.
x-c skiing has been good though.
