Garver, a Bohemian style lager, hopped with Hallertau Mittelfruh and Saaz. Brewed by, local to me, There Does Not Exist. Really good, as are all of their Lagers and Pilsners.

One of the old school, to me, IPA’s that got me hooked on the style many, many, many moons ago. I think I first had that about 20 years ago. Give or take.
First pull of my Marzen for Oktoberfest. Tastes good but needs to clear
I wonder how well the banana puree in that Wafflenanner ages before something bad happens

Scratch #538 Burton Nitro at Troegs. 7%. Not available for takeout, only on tap at the brewery. Great beer, they’re almost out.
Scratch #538 Burton Ale represents our take on the dark, strong English-style ale. Suggested by brewer Jeremy Barr, this “brewer’s choice” limited R&D batch begins with the bready notes of Pearl malt. Whole leaf Bravo hops add a touch of fruity and floral notes, and Demerara sugar bolsters the ale’s sweetness. Our English ale yeast strain adds subtle fruity esters for a complex finish. We taste fresh-baked bread, dark caramel and figgy pudding. Available on nitro while it lasts!

The band just started playing to kick off the Oktoberfest happy times at Balboa Park in San Diego.
Well this beer has to be some sort of an homage to the 1963 cinema comedy “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.” How a San Diego brew makes the link is beyond me, however I did take a look at the trailer. I remember watching this movie back in the 1960’s as a kid on late night television, but I was a little foggy on much more than the title, it’s been a while. Looks like a bunch of the movie was filmed in the San Bernardino on down to the San Diego County areas, so maybe that’s the link.
Anyway, great name for an IPA!

A beer mrs. Rum brought back from a business trip to Croatia. Grička Vještica (The Witch of Grič) is a 7.5% abv Doppelbock made by Medvedgrad brewery.
The aroma is sweet and fruity, reminiscent of plums and to some extent jam, as the beer warmed up I was able to detect some more bready and toffee like notes. The taste was on the sweet side with hints of caramel and dried fruit that only got more pronounced as the beer warmed up.
P.s. It was actually perfectly clear in the glass, but I haven't found a location with good lighting in the new apartment yet.

Yesterday I hauled my lobster pots for the season, my wife vacuum sealed most of the meat from the 15 bugs I i brought home for this winter,but saved enough knuckle and claw meat to make me a delicious meal. I found a few ears of corn the raccoons didn't get, poured another home brew APA- it's a great day to be alive!
