I really like that grain chute under your tippy dump MLT. Nice touch. Also, nice People's Republic of California sticker.

Do you have a build ore any plans? I am wanting to build a 1550 type rig but with weldless framing.

Thanks. It's an owl kitchen timer. Wife bought it because it's pretty. The oven and microwave have perfectly fine digital timers for me. In all honesty I do have a very modest propane setup outside. Hope you got a giggle out of it.

This is my BCS all eHERMs, with a pic of the in line O2 system. Need to calabrate the sight glasses, but had a great second brew on it today...ended with a little stronger beer but a little less than planed.

You are right. The idea was to build the thing out of parts on hand/stuff in our garages. Except for the PID, RTD, element, pump, spa panel and some fittings, that is what we did. Made for a heck of a puzzle at times

Bsquared...there is an android app out for the bcs by the way. I like that you are using the bcs. It is so much easier than separate PID's and probably cheaper too!

I really like the versatility of the BCS, this is the third system Ive built around this BCS, the first two where 5 and 10 gallon HERMS systems with separate HEX. This system I put the heat exchanger in the HLT. Its nice as well to be able to switch temperature probe assignments with out any re-wiring.

I did not make a build thread for it but I got all my ideas from here.

It's a 1500 watt element, controlled by an auberins pid. Heats 9 gallons straight from the well to 168 in like 2.5 hours. If I'm in a hurry and don't have time to prep I use hot water at about 110 and it's to 168 in less than an hour

I'm noting wet floors in a lot of these pictures. As someone who is currently drawing out designs, I'm curious to know what the largest source of leakage is in people's experiences.

I don't think it is leakage as much as it is hose swapping. One of my design goals for my rig was no hose swapping. I only unhook one hose during the brew and that is to run into my fermenter at the end.

definitely hose swapping for me; though with two pumps I try to just disconnect the high-sides.

One of these days I'll get around to plumbing it up.

A plastic spoon. :-/

Actually just picked up the necessary fittings to allow the pump to recirc water. Doing a test run with that now and it seems to do the trick

Hard plumbing is how I avoid leaks... works great!
