Hi all,

New to the forum. I just bought an ss brewtech chronical 2.0 fermenter. I've never used a conical fermenter before and in my haste to order to get the holiday mead batch started this year, I didn't especially read up on cleaning bit. I have since watched a bunch of videos about TSP, passivation ect. And it seems like CIP is the way to go for the most part. I have the budget for it and I'd like to build a basic CIP rig.

As I understand it, this CIP ball should fit the chronical 2.0 and, I think, may even be the exact same one sold on ss brewtech's website. Because Brewtech is in canada and I'm in the US south, it takes a hot minute for them to ship and get it here so I'm going through amazon. The thing about it though, is that it has a female and internally threaded end. I'm assuming this is where a hose barb to screw threaded male comes into play. If y'all know of a better place to get the right hose barb quickly then by all means let me know. I'm in a sort of dead zone for brick and mortar brew stores. I'm also concerned about brass reacting to the cleaners needed here.

Outside of that, the CIP ball is connected, at least as I've seen it, to basic dishwasher tubing. The clear, fiber reinforced type you can buy by the foot at a Lowes. So the CIP ball connects to the barb, barb to tubing, tubing to the Out side of the pump. Which brings me to the pump. I'm unclear on what I need. The Denord CIP ball recommends 2 bar or 29 psi. So presumably I need a pump that can move fluid at 2 bar. Everyone on here talks about Chugger brand pumps and I found this one on thier site, which is in stock, but unsure of their shipping times. Also the documentation doesn't seem to state the bar or psi it works at. I assume there's some sort of conversion formula that I don't know about. If anyone has insight on this, as well as a suggestion of the fastest shipping pump to do the job, I would be greatly appreciative.

Beyond that point is where I get sort of hazy. I am still unsure what this assembly portion of the fermenter is called, but I'm going to refer to it as the "dump valve" because that seems mostly correct.

Presumably that dump valve has to connect to an adapter of some kind, and then to a hose, in order to permit the liquid to flow back out and to the pump thus creating the cycle of liquid. I have not the slightest clue what those parts would even be called. I'm unfamiliar with this style of plumbing. So how do I accomplish that? Is it to remove the clamp and mate a matching tc valve to some sort of adapter to get it back to the hose?

Any insight would be grand and seriously appreciated here cuz I'm obviously an idiot in over my head. Thanks in advance.
