I am ready to keg my Dark Strong but it is still cloudy. I cold crashed the secondary and still doesn't look clear. I think that the style guidelines say that a haze is normal for this style. Should I use isinglass to clear it up? Will it leave any off flavor? Should I leave it alone and keg as is? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Perhaps consider gelatin fining. I used that on my last batch of IPA, really came out crystal clear. Worked good on an Apfelwein that I used the wrong sugar in too.

BeglIAN Dark Strongs (;)) are allowed slight haze, as you said. Cold crashing for a day or two won't clear it much unless the haze is caused only by yeast. In fact it can cause chill haze to come out initially. You'll need an extended period of cold conditioning (1-2 weeks) to start to notice any clearing. The haze won't affect the flavour of the beer, so I say don't worry about it.

Thanks gremlyn. To Babalu - Sorry for my fopaux. But I guess I was looking for a fix for my hazy BELGIAN dark strong. Not a grammar lesson.

I stated that either Isinglass or Gelatin would be appropriate, that was the answer for your issue.
