Hi all!

I have this barrel and I want to serve a porter out of it in an upcoming event for my homebrew club.

I want this beer somewhat carbonated - should I carbonate it before putting it in the barrel or should I do a very tiny bit of cask conditioning? I know the barrel probably can't hold that many psi from what I imagine - I don't want the damn thing exploding. Does anybody have any experience with this?

Also, should I attach some type of filter on the spigot?

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers!

That’s a good idea actually. Ideally I wanted to serve straight from the barrel, but that’s a good back up plan
I do love the barrel would go nice next to my old tea crate coffee table. Send us pics of the finished product when your done
