I have a slim 1/4 barrel sanke keg that i would like to use for kegging my beer, but i hate dealing with that ring all the time. Does anyone know a good place to get the snap ring to replace the split ring?

Forgot a "2" in there...

However, I don't have any problems with my snaprings. It literally takes me 30seconds to remove them and pull the spear.

I'm not too worried about getting the ring back in, its getting it out that is frustrating me. I've taken out 3 of them, and broken two small screwdrivers in the process. maybe there's a good way to do it that i'm not aware of?

I took an old (sturdy) screwdriver and ground it down on my grinder. Works like a charm!

Yep! I did the same. Having the perfect size screwdriver makes easy work of removing the spiral rings. It also helps to install the ring so it slightly passes the groove on the sanke fitting by only a 1/4 inch or so. They can be stubborn if the end of the spiral ring is halfway between the indents.

If your scredrivers are breaking...they are too small IMO / IME.
