Hello.

As crazy as this sounds, this is my first time using 05. I was aiming for a stronger apa (6.5ish abv) and after two days the airlock is bubbling steadily but there is no layer of foam on top like all my other beers in the past. From what I am reading this is not typical. Other notes: The temp of the beer was about 70 degrees the first day, couldn't avoid it, smell from airlock is great and only used one packet (5 gal extract brew)

Should I add another packet or leave it alone? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

I just brewed 2 batches with US-05 for the first time myself(one an APA).

Took a good while for them to start then BOOM!! shiat went crazy.

IMO I would leave it alone. You may have under pitched a bit.

Leave it alone.

I use US-05 for all of my APA/IPA's and most of them are in the 6.5% range.

Don't worry the yeast will do it's job.
