I've seen many forums discussing similar problems, but have still yet to see one that makes sense to me on how to resolve my issue. I'm sure I'm just missing something very obvious!

I have three perlick taps that rotate from side to side and are very loose. All of the nuts are as tight as they can be, but since the faucet is only connected to the shank they just rotate freely since there's nothing to stop them. I've tried adjusting them every which way imaginable, but have not had a bit of luck. In the attached pictures you can see that the nut inside the keezer is actually so tight that it is digging into the foam board insulation. This nut does not move when the tap rotates.

If anyone can give me some insight into what I'm missing it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

So the shank is spinning inside the nut. Which suggests it's not all that tight.

But if you remove the tail piece and run a second lock nut down on the first you can jamb the two of them together which should keep the shank from spinning...

Cheers!

[edit] btw/fwiw, I suspect most folks carve out the foam board just enough to fit a deep socket over the lock nut and drive that sucker right up into the collar...

From the looks you need longer and heavier tap handles to get full rotation. Might try green Loctite on the backer nut.
Cheers,
D
