Hey guys,

Wired up my RIMS toolbox today, and I'm having a bit of a problem with my thermocouple. I'm using the SYL-2352 and RTD Thermocouple from Auber Instruments. I changed the "Sn" setting on my PID to 21 to reflect an "RTD" vs. "K" type thermocouple, but my PID isn't reflecting any change in temperature. It's flashing a value of "-343" no matter what temperature water I place the thermocouple in. Granted, the PID confuses the hell out of me right now and the instruction manual is currently making things worse in my head, but just curious to see if you guys knew if there was some glaring mistake I am making, or something I should be troubleshooting.

Thanks for any advice, I can't wait to start brewing with this!

This is where that great support auberins is known for should come in handy... Sounds to me like the probe is wired incorrectly.

Aaaaaaand I feel like an idiot, but I was working on this thing from the top down and not looking at it straight on, and put the white wire on 3 instead of 5... It's been a long day :cross:

Don't feel bad, I fired mine up on Christmas Eve and couldn't figure out why the ssr wasn't firing. It was when I was checking the PID's ssr trigger output I realized that the output and the ssr have polarity markings. I guess I assumed it didn't matter. Luckily I didn't fry anything.
