I'm brewing the same beer 3 times in a row and want to reuse the yeast from the first batch to make the second, since it's the same style beer and therefore I want the same kind of yeast.
I sanitized a plastic solo cup and scooped up some yeast from the bottom of fermenter after primary fermentation was complete, and I covered the solo cup with a sanitized plastic bag, loose, and it's been in my fridge ever since.
The bag is not air-tight, so it has been open to odors from food in my fridge (though there isn't much in there except for beer). Is the yeast safe to use on the next batch? Or should I have sealed it air-tight? What techniques to you recommend for keeping yeast safe until you're ready to brew again?
