Posted today on Goose Island's Facebook page.

From Goose Island's FB page about 45 minutes ago.....

We hear you.

So yeah. We're starting exactly where I suspected. "Nope no consistent issues we can see here! We'll be in touch later this week on addressing these issues we don't see here. Good Beer Hunting will really hold us to the fire on this one - promise!"

To be fair, there's no good way to fix this **** once it's been shat. No way are they going to just take a loss on all of that product. No way are they just going to come out and say "Yep we seriously ****** that one up! Come back next year and give it another shot, okay?" This is all they can really do.

What do people want them to do though?

Handle the PR on it as effectively as they possibly can. This issue is the possible delivery of every InBev-buyout prophecy you heard when they first sold. They need to handle this one very, very well.

Judging by their comment thread on Facebook, they run the risk of coming across super "corporate" and patronizing. Their plan is to set up a discussion with their own consultant Good Beer Hunting to quote "drop some serious science on you."

If that serious science is in any way a method to claim zero responsibility for what happened, then that's what people don't want them to do.

Judging by the internet: close and burn down the brewery and then publicly hang all of the employees.

if i spend an exorbitant amount of money on a new consumable product and it may or may not be to my liking then i want entire family trees destroyed

couple years back the SweeTango apples i bought were not as juicy and fresh as the previous season. i had bought 75 lbs on the strength of the 2 apples i had the season prior. my shock troops slaughtered an entire county, salted the earth and poisoned the lakes.

I asked Kiser on twitter if the interview would be from a journalist or consultant POV. He freely admitted he's not a journalist and that his role was to help explain the issue.

You don't have to like the way they decided to do it. That's up to you. In this case though, I wouldn't shoot the messenger since he's openly admitting he's not trying to serve as a journalist here.

Is Good Beer Hunting the guy who did marketing work for Goose Island or am I mixing him up with someone else?

Somewhat related to this thread, had a Prop '15 last night and it was total crap. We couldn't even drink it. Super sweet and then straight tart and metallic. The nose was metallic too.

Had it alongside a '15 Coffee and '15 Barleywine and they all shared the same nose and tartness and horrible finish. I hope this isn't the direction regular is going but glad I am down to only one left.

Three of us all took 2 gulps of each and couldn't do more. Thankfully had some good BC too ('13 Coffee is still awesome! It definitely doesn't fade as much as some make you think).

Not really. Nothing about GBH is close to a news source. He does profiles/stories of breweries. Sometime he gets paid to do them and sometimes he does them for the clicks and access. "Paid shill" seems silly.

If someone is getting paid to write fluff pieces on their blog for some breweries, how can I trust anything else that is written or said on that blog, or anywhere for that matter?
I don't follow Twitter that closely, but please point me to anything where he's been remotely critical of Goose Island during all this. All I ever come across is him arguing FOR and defending them, because of course, it would probably be costly for his business.

Had a 9/30 and a 10/21 side by side last night with a friend. They are labeled with different Abvs and are definitely not the same beer....even the nose is different.

The 10/21 had all the normal fudge and chocolate notes, but 9/30 finished with this cherry/metallic taste

I'm hoping you have that backwards because the 10/21 date is known to have a lot of infection. If 9/30 is infected too...

He confirmed 10/21. I'll try and get the batch numbers from him when he gets home on Sunday

So it's later this week, aren't we supposed to be hearing from their Brewmaster, Jared Jankoski?
I'm pretty sure I've decoded the Facebook messages to imply that Jankoski is doing this week's GBH podcast which either comes out late Friday night or Saturday at some point. I could be wrong but I did get my ******** decoder ring from Ovaltine.

Good Beer Hunting's balls are immensely touched by all of us. No one spends thousands of dollars on inventory otherwise trying to say you're not a shill.

Lol

I'd give this about 8 out of 10 Wakefields.

No further reports on regular BCBS, but we drank a '15 Prop the other night and it was absolutely turrible and infected.

We opened '15 BCBBW & '15 BCBCS too and tall 3 had the same spoiled/sour nose and sour/metallic finish. Drain poured them all.

Rare was very good though with no signs of changing, FWIW.
