Well although we are not making bread, we have similar ingredients and methods...my wife said she makes the best bread with yeast that has been taken from prior batches. Can I save some of the wort and skim the top to hopefully catch the yeast and save it to add with new yeast in the next batch of brew? And keep the sample in the fridge just like liquid yeast(whitelabs)

No problem.

I have been saving my more 'unique' strains that I know I'll re-use in 2 pint jars(W2112, WLP026), and make a nice easy starter from them when needed without payng another 6-8 bucks.
