Is it truly necessary to boil the **** out of your jars when you're harvesting the cake?Wouldn't sanitizing (iodine,starsan,even bleach)the jars be enough?

That's all I do. I'm still pitching from smack-packs of 1450, 1272 and 1318 that I bought over a year ago and I've been brewing almost every week this year.

I just sanitize clean mason jars in starsan and after racking fill them from the spigot on my Speidel. Refrigerate and cap loosely for the first few days...
