20 years ago when I was in Arlington, our class teacher made sure we knew that if we took a picture of a funeral, the guard would swoop in and destroy our camera. Is that no longer the case, or perhaps they extend that right to only the family.

Never heard of this. I can see the sense of it, though. Taking photos of a funeral without the family's permission would be very intrusive, imo. Also, performing a funeral ceremony is one of the most dreaded duties for military members. It was always a very emotional evolution for me. Proud to do it, nevertheless.

Could have also been an 8th grade teacher doing all she could to corral her kids

I don't believe there are any restrictions on photographs or videos. my sister hired a professional videographer for the occaision
