Spent the day at the drag races north of Billings. A friend of ours races a Camaro in the Super Pro class (cars capable of <12 second ets). His car has a 540 cu. in. big block and is probably capable of running in the eights. The 9.04 on the windshield was his qualifying time.

My SIL is his crew chief.

The highlight of the day was one of the Top Gun drivers (cars faster than 8 second ets) cutting a zero reaction time. She launched at the instant the green light came on-0 second reaction time.

The “Socratia Exorhiza” palm is unique because it moves from one place to another until it reaches more sunny places. And the way of its movement is that new roots grow in the foreground, and the old ones die and are displaced from their place. The distance covered in a year may be 20 meters. It is found in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama.

Read the novel years before I saw the movie, but the movie sucked anyway... The 70's BBC TV series was way better.

I remember watching "Day of the Triffids" as a kid. I was 5 in '62 so I must have seen it a few years later. Every Saturday at 1pm one of the Syracuse, NY TV channels ran "Monster Movie Matinee." Saw a boatload of B-horror movies on Saturday afternoons.
4 when The Elmira Express won his Heisman Trophy. I was 9 that year.
